A 21-year-old Northeast Ohio man is in more trouble after police say he was released from jail to attend his great-grandmother’s funeral and then broke into her house.

A Berea police report says Sheldon Inman failed to return to jail Feb. 26 after being furloughed for the funeral, then broke into the home and stole cash and property. Police say two days later, he was allowed to spend the night at the same house and stole credit cards from his great-grandfather.

Police said they finally found Inman at neighboring suburban Cleveland jail on March 4, booked under a fake name after he was arrested during a traffic stop.

Inman had been in jail for convictions last year. He will be arraigned on the new charges Tuesday.
