BOARDMAN

Columbiana School District is joining forces with Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 381 Boardman-Poland Road, to promote family literacy at the fourth annual Spring Family Literacy Night from 5 to 8 p.m. March 27 at the bookstore.

The event will begin with a story reading by Kim Sharshan, principal of Joshua Dixon Elementary School. Families then can participate in an arts and crafts activity, a LEGO building station or take photos in front of a backdrop and listen to teachers read stories.

There also will be a LEGO house-building contest for students to show off their construction skills. Participants can shop at any time of the day at the book fair by providing a school ID.

Proceeds will benefit Joshua Dixon special education, preschool and Dixon Library.

Columbiana families are encouraged to wear their Clipper gear and flood the store with red and white.
