Suicide could be linked to shooting

CLEVELAND

Cleveland police say they are trying to determine whether a man who killed himself inside his car was responsible for killing one man and critically wounding another minutes earlier.

Police received a 911 call around 10:45 a.m. Friday about a shooting at an apartment building. A police spokesman said a sergeant driving to the scene saw a man running and followed him in his cruiser. When the man got into a car nearby, the sergeant pulled behind the vehicle and told the man to show his hands.

The spokesman said the man instead shot himself in the head.

The spokesman said homicide detectives are investigating whether the man who killed himself fatally shot a 54-year-old man and critically wounded a 52-year-old man inside the apartment building.
