Probe continues into fatal accident

WARREN

Police are still investigating how a pickup truck rolled over about 5:30 p.m. Thursday at West Market Street near Penn Avenue Southwest, killing a 17-year-old front-seat passenger.

Reports said the truck, driven by Jody Weaver of Warren, was traveling west on West Market Street when it lost control and rolled over at least twice before striking a bar.

Weaver and her son, Jonathan Wynn, 10, who was in the back seat of the truck, were taken to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital to be treated for their injuries, and Jonathan later was transferred to Akron Children’s Hospital.

Alyssa Wynn, Weaver’s daughter and a front-seat passenger, was killed.

Reports said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.

Youngstown was named a 2014 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management.

Youngstown achieved Tree City USA recognition by meeting the program’s four requirements: a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.

The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters.
