Man and woman found dead with gunshot wounds in northeast Ohio

NEW FRANKLIN, Ohio (AP) — A man and woman have been found dead with gunshot wounds in a northeast Ohio home in what authorities suspect was a murder-suicide.

Summit County officials say police received a call shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday for a welfare check in New Franklin, about 10 miles south of Akron. Police say officers arrived at the home and found a 56-year-old man and 52-year-old woman both dead of apparent gunshot wounds.

Officials have not released the identities of the man and woman.

Police and the Summit County Medical Examiner are investigating the deaths.
