Austintown children living with relatives after taken from home

AUSTINTOWN
Four children are staying with relatives after being removed from a home late Wednesday.
The children, whose ages were not available, were taken from a home in the 4300 block of Nottingham Avenue after authorities were called to the home at 10:04 p.m. Wednesday.
Patty Amendolea, community education specialist with Mahoning County Children Services, said authorities originally were called to the home for a domestic dispute. There was a report of domestic violence at the same address at the same time that led to no arrest due to conflicting stories.
“In the process of officers going through the house, they noticed that the home was unsuitable and messy and dirty, and it was unsafe for the children,” Amendolea said. “Our agency is working cooperatively with Austintown Police Department in this matter.”
She also said the kids are not with her department as relatives “came forward to provide with their immediate care.”
Austintown officials said the home was in “deplorable conditions.”
