BREAKING NEWS | Suspect in Wednesday shooting in jail

YOUNGSTOWN — The suspect in the wounding of a 28-year-old man about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at a South Side home is in the Mahoning County jail.

Lt. Doug Bobovnyik of the police department’s detective bureau said U.S. Marshals this morning arrested Joseph Williams, 60. Williams is wanted for the shooting of Roderick Wilson inside a home in the 700 block of Linwood Avenue on the South Side.

Detectives said the shooting came after a domestic argument. Wilson is being treated at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Bobovnyik said Williams immediately requested an attorney, so investigators have not yet had a chance to talk to him. He is expected to be arraigned in municipal court later today.

Bobovnyik said marshals did not tell him where or when they arrested Williams.
