Thursday vigil planned for slain Cody Pitts in Hubbard

Friends of Cody Pitts plan a candlelight vigil for 8 p.m. Thursday at the corner of Orchard Avenue and North Main Street.

Trumbull County Coroner Dr. Humphrey D. Germaniuk ruled the death of 26-year-old Pitts a homicide on Monday. His body was found in the street near the Downtown Coffee Café on North Main Street over the weekend. The coroner found he died from a single gunshot wound to the head and neck.A police investigation continues. Those who attend the vigil are asked to wear green and white as Pitts was a huge Michigan State fan.
