Suicide suspected in woman's plunge from sixth floor

WARREN — Police believe suicide is the reason why a 51-year-old resident of an apartment of the sixth floor of the Buckeye Building fell to her death this morning at 700 Buckeye Street Northwest near downtown.

Capt. Robert Massucci said police do not suspect foul play or an accident.

Police responded to the building at 7 a.m. when a caller reported that the woman had fallen into the courtyard near the Mahoning River and was not breathing.

The Trumbull County coroner will conduct an autopsy.

The apartment is one of two Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority high rises near the intersection of West Market Street and Tod Avenue Northwest.
