First Niles Financial Inc., the parent company of Home Federal Savings and Loan Association of Niles, announced the payoff of a nonperforming loan, which is expected to contribute about $148,000 in pre-tax income, or approximately $98,000 in after-tax income, to overall earnings in the first quarter of 2015.

NE Ohio gas prices drop to $2.35/gallon

Northeast Ohio gas prices dropped 2 cents as of Monday to $2.35 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Fuel Gauge report. The national average is $2.45. The average price for gas in Youngstown was $2.35 per gallon.

Oil and gas group sets meeting date

The Ohio Valley Oil and Gas Association announced its general member meeting and 2015 State of the Industry Update for March 19 at Belmont College’s Horizon Hall in St. Clairsville.

Andrew Keck, senior land negotiator of Hess Corp., and Patrick Ryan, operations superintendent of Chevron Corp., will speak to members. Matt Steele is association president.
