Ohio anti-abortion group starts new chapter in Cleveland

CLEVELAND (AP) — Ohio’s oldest and largest anti-abortion organization is taking its fight to Cleveland.

Ohio Right to Life today announced it has established a new chapter in Cuyahoga County, where more abortions are performed annually than anywhere else in the state.

Northeast Ohio native Rachel Mullen has been tapped to lead the new office. State executive director Stephanie Ranade Krider said Mullen has experience in campaign management, grassroots organization and public policy.

Mullen is also active in the county Republican party, which praised the opening of the office. Cuyahoga County is a traditional stronghold for Ohio Democrats, who have fought a spate of recent bills that further restricted abortion access in recent years.

Right to Life said it has 10 other chapters or affiliates in northeast Ohio.
