Dog owners invited to join Paws Town

Staff report

BOARDMAN

Dog owners are invited to join the Marge Hartman’s Paws Town Dog Park at Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road.

Since Paws Town opened in 2013, it has been the park’s goal to provide a fun, social and safe environment where dogs are able to play off-leash. Being a members-only dog park accomplishes this goal.

All dogs are vaccinated and registered with the county. Also, the double-gate entry system allows owners to unleash their dogs after entering but before interacting with other dogs.

The lawn is well-maintained, and caretakers patrol the area several times a day and are just a phone call away. The 3.25-acre fenced-in park has separate fenced- in areas for large and small dogs, water fountains, a dog-wash station, benches, small shade trees and dog waste bags.

One-year memberships are available for 2015-16. Memberships will be valid from the date of purchase through March 31, 2016. Memberships for Boardman residents are $40 for one dog and $10 for each additional dog. Memberships for those outside Boardman are $65 for one dog and $10 for each additional dog. Membership packets may be picked up at the park office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in the outdoor literature boxes or online at boardmanpark.com.

Interested parties also are invited to try out the dog park with the new one-day passes, which are available for $5. Bring the dog’s shot records on a veterinarian’s letterhead, along with rabies and county tag numbers.

For information, call the park office at 330-726-8105.
