A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Feb. 13

Drug possession: Police arrested Michael Kindinis, 19, of Hickory Hollow Drive, Canfield, on a charge of drug possession.

Feb. 14

Criminal trespassing: Police issued a criminal-trespassing warning against a male individual at a home in the 200 block of Colonial Drive.

Feb. 23

Warrant: Raul Gonzalez-Tovar, 60, of Saranac Avenue, Youngstown, surrendered to police on a Canfield Mayor’s Court warrant for failure to appear.

Feb. 24

Domestic violence: Police arrested Daniel Novak, 29, of Russo Lane, Canfield, on a domestic-violence charge.

Feb. 26

Resisting arrest: Police arrested Joseph Vitello, 20, of North Carolina Place, Poland, on charges of failure to comply/fleeing and eluding and resisting arrest.

AUSTINTOWN

Feb. 23

Criminal damaging: A window of a vehicle was damaged at Mahoning and North Kimberly avenues.

Theft: A person drove off without paying $29.97 for gas at Country Fair, 1143 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Nicole Russell, 32, of Pembrook Road, on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Feb. 24

Recovered property: A handbag containing drug paraphernalia was recovered at Super 8 Motel, 5280 Seventy-Six Drive.

Criminal damaging: A truck windshield was shot with a BB gun pellet at a home in the 5000 block of Willowcrest Drive.

Breaking and entering: Aluminum and copper piping from four air-conditioning units were taken from a home in the 30 block of Fitch Boulevard.

Violation of protection order: Police arrested Jermaine Donlow, 42, of School Ave., Youngstown for violation of a protection order and failure to comply, fleeing and eluding and aggravated menacing.

Feb. 25

Menacing: A report of menacing was made at a home in the 300 block of South Edgehill Avenue.

Warrant: Police arrested Eugene Matthews, 29, of Millett Avenue, Youngstown, on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Assault: A 12-year-old boy was struck with a hairbrush on a school bus at Austintown Middle School, 800 S. Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: A car and home were damaged by BB pellets causing broken windows in the 800 block of Compass West Drive.

Theft: A purse was taken from a classroom at ITT Technical Institute.

Aggravated menacing: Threats were made at a home in the 200 block of South Four Mile Run Road.

Feb. 26

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Chase McKinney, 18, of Rhoda Avenue, Youngstown for possession of three bags of suspected marijuana.

Identity theft: Personal information used for personal wages was stolen from a person who lives at a home in the 3000 block of Oakleigh Avenue.

Identity theft: Fraudulent tax filing was reported at a home in the 4000 block of Signature Circle.

Theft: Police arrested David Keator, 47, of Belmont Avenue, Youngstown, on a theft charge. Police said he is a suspect in the theft of $12.40 in merchandise at Marc’s, 4755 Mahoning Ave.

Identity theft: An identity theft was reported at Briarfield Manor, 461 state Route 46.

Warrant: Police arrested Jessica Raisky, 20, of Hull Street, Sharon, Pa., on a warrant charging her with probation violation.

Theft: A student’s calculator was stolen at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

Feb. 27

Theft: Unnamed suspects were involved in a theft at Kmart, 4675 Mahoning Ave.

Bad checks: Fraudulent checks were passed at Bezac Equipment, 3721 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Police arrested Deanna Bland, 28, of Fifth Avenue, Youngstown, on a warrant for failure to appear on traffic charges.

Warrant: Police arrested Barbara DeCarlo, 48, of North Main Street, on a warrant for failure to appear on a forgery charge.

Disorderly conduct: Police arrested Trisha Gaskill, 31, of Royal Mall Drive, Niles, on a charge of disorderly conduct at Marc’s.

Feb. 28.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Shawn Green, 19, of South Raccoon Road, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drugs after officers found him with three bags of suspected marijuana.

Drug offense: Police arrested Cory Vernon, 36, of North Main Street, on charges of lack of physical control of his vehicle, driving while intoxicated, drug abuse of cocaine and resisting arrest. He also was charged with permitting drug abuse.

Theft: Police issued a summons to Kimberly Vaughn, 52, of Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road, on a theft charge. She is a suspect in the theft of beef jerky and perfume valued at $208.47 from Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Michael Brown, 31, of Ravenwood Avenue, Youngstown, on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Receiving stolen property: Police arrested Edward Kucals, 49, of Westchester Drive, on charges of receiving stolen property and obstructing official business.

March 1

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Johnathan Lawhorn, 18, of Highway Avenue Southwest, Warren, on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Attempted breaking and entering: A front door was shattered at Drywall Barn, 408 N. Meridian Road.
