Austintown
West Austintown United Methodist Church, 6749 Mahoning Ave., will host Charity Helms and the Helms Family Band during a concert at 7 p.m. next Saturday.
Helms, who was born and reared in the Mahoning Valley, is the daughter of Don and Julie Clegg of Warren. She and her husband, Tim, and four children will perform.
The event is part of a revival weekend at the church. At 7 p.m. Friday, the family will perform and Tim Helms will deliver an inspirational message.
The weekend will culminate in worship at 10:30 a.m. March 15 featuring music by the Helmses.
Festival of Praise
NEWton falls
First Church of God, 426 W. Broad St., will host a winter Festival of Praise at 6 p.m. next Saturday with local singers. Soloists, a quartet and ensemble will present the finale.
A dessert reception will follow in the Family Activity Center.
An offering will be taken. Funds will benefit the church’s music department.
Torah studies
VILLA MARIA, PA.
Rabbi Saul Oresky of Congregation Ohev Tzedek in Boardman and the Rev. George Balasko will will present “Torah Studies for Christians” from 1 to 2:30 p.m. March 18 and April 15 at Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center, 2067 Evergreen Road.
Co-sponsors are Jewish/Christian Studies in Youngstown and B’nai B’rith Guardian of the Menorah. Rabbi Oresky leads Congregation Ohev Tzedek in Boardman. Father Balasko is co-founder of the Jewish/Christian Dialogue.

St. Joseph novena
NORTH JACKSON
The Basilica & National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 N. Lipkey Road, will conduct its annual St. Joseph Novena from Wednesday through March 19. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 6 p.m. and novena prayers will follow on the weekdays. Benediction and novena prayers will be celebrated at 6 p.m. next Saturday and March 15.
At the closing of the novena at 6 p.m. March 19, the Feast Day of St. Joseph, there will be solemn vespers and benediction followed by the special blessing of the St. Joseph’s table in Cedars Banquet Hall. Call 330-538-3351.
Speaker at tea

Ebenezer Church of God In Christ/Generations 4U2 and the Rev. Ernest L. Walker III, pastor, will present the 58th annual Calendar Tea at 5 p.m. Sunday at St. Dominic Church banquet hall, 77 E. Lucius Ave.
Guest speaker will be evangelist Barbara Herron-Mann of Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ in Pttsburgh.
The event is free and open to the public.
Free lecture planned

C.S. Lewis Institute – Northeast Ohio will host a free community lecture by Dr. Nabeel Qureshi on the topic, “Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus,” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 20 in DeBartolo Hall Room 132 at Youngstown State University.

Qureshi is a member of the speaking team at Ravi Zacharias International Ministries. He has a medical degree and degrees in religion.
A business ethics workshop is planned April 23 and 24 featuring Brad Smith, president of Bakke Graduate University of Ministry.

MINERAL RIDGE
First Presbyterian Church, 3654 Main St., will host the Rev. Jed and Jenny Koball, Presbyterian Mission co-workers.
He has served since 2009 as the Presbyterian Hunger Program’s Joining Hands in Peru facilitator. His wife, Jenny, heads the Young Adult Volunteer program in Peru.
At 7 p.m. March 18, the couple will share their experiences in Peru. Worship will be preceded at 6 p.m. with a prepared meal.
On March 19, those interested in going to Peru in 2016 as a part of an intergenerational mission trip may attend a dinner with the Koballs.
