Sarah Gonda signs to Mount Union

Boardman High School Senior swimmer Sarah Gonda will continue her swimming career at the University of Mount Union in the fall.

She recently signed her paperwork with her parents, Greg and Mary Gonda, present as well as Terry Halloran, head coach of the Spartans, and assistant coach Carlo Cordon.

Sarah’s successful career at Boardman includes being a four-year letter winner and holding two school records. One of those records is in the individual 100 backstroke and the other is with her relay teammates in the 200 medley relay.

Sarah has qualified for the OHSAA State Swimming Championships as a part of the 200 medley relay for the past two seasons. Also in attendance at her signing were Tim Saxton, Director of Operations, Jared Cardillo, BHS principal, Cindy Fernbeck, assistant BHS principal, and Denise Gorski, athletic director, along with several of Sarah’s swimming teammates.
