A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:
HUBBARD
Feb. 26
Arrest: Poland police handed 25-year-old Deangelo T. Christian of North Garland Avenue, Youngstown, to Hubbard authorities. He was accused of failing to appear in court on a driving-under-suspension charge.
Menacing: A West Liberty Street man saw that someone had squirted an unknown substance on his door handle. He also had complained of finding threatening notes on his door.
Theft: A Center Street woman reported a man age 30 to 35 who claimed he had slid off the road came to her home saying he needed $40 for gasoline, $30 of which she gave him before learning it likely was a scam.
LIBERTY
Feb. 26
Arrest: Police in the 3400 block of Belmont Avenue picked up 34-year-old Jonathan D. Brown of South Street, Niles, on a warrant charging theft.
Vandalism: Someone smashed a front-door window at H&R Block in the Liberty Plaza, apparently in an effort to enter. Damage came to $1,000.
Feb. 27
Arrest: The Ohio State Highway Patrol handed Courtney M. Phillips, 23, to township authorities. Phillips, of Northwood Avenue, Youngstown, was wanted on a probation-violation charge.
Burglary: To a residence in the 1000 block of Chrysann Drive through the garage. Roughly $12,000 worth of jewelry was missing.
Theft: Two air-conditioning condensers were stolen from outside of the Church of Jesus Christ, 1900 Keefer Road.
Arrest: Officers answered a theft call at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, where they arrested 20-year-old Raymond Ortiz of East Dewey Avenue, Youngstown on a felony warrant from Campbell charging breaking and entering. A theft charge was pending.
Fraud: A Tibbetts-Wick Road woman told police a caller claiming to be checking her computer’s operating system took control of her machine and tricked her into buying a bogus $500 anti-virus package.
Theft: A man and a woman reportedly took a collection can containing $30 and an Ohio Lottery ticket from One Stop Mart, 4495 Logan Way.
Feb. 28
Drugs: A West Liberty Street woman told police she was concerned that her son may have been using marijuana before the son reportedly handed authorities a device he said he had used to smoke marijuana.
Robbery: A 23-year-old Youngstown woman allegedly grabbed and shoved a worker with Citi Trends, 3489 Belmont Ave., who tried to detain her after $519 worth of clothing had been stolen. The suspect reportedly fled in a 2001 Oldsmobile vehicle.
Identity theft: A Dunn Drive man discovered that as he attempted to file his 2014 income taxes electronically, someone else had done so in his name but without authorization.
March 1
Arrest: Authorities took custody of 32-year-old Nicholas J. Lee of East Drive, Youngstown, who was accused of failing to appear in court on charges of theft and menacing.
Arrest: William T. Craft, 19, of Trumbull Court, Liberty, was charged with obstructing a police officer and having a driver’s license forfeiture after having been pulled over near Hadley Avenue. Craft provided a false name and date of birth, authorities said.
Arrest: Police received a complaint of a reckless driver near state Route 193 before charging 37-year-old Mark E. Krokoski of Elden Drive, Warren, with operating a vehicle impaired. Krokoski’s blood-alcohol count was 0.206, a report showed.
March 2
Theft by deception: A Youngstown woman told police she had sent a $960 money transfer from Walmart to a man in Lowell, Mass., as a security deposit for a rental home in Cleveland before learning the man never owned the home.
Arrest: A traffic stop on East Liberty Street resulted in the arrest of Darius D. Beasley of Mumford Street, Youngstown. The 22-year-old Beasley was wanted on a township warrant charging failure to appear in court.
Harassment: A Liberty woman said that a caller made derogatory statements to her, including asking the accuser to kill herself.
Arrest: Girard police handed Richard A. Harris III, 27, to township authorities. Harris, of Indiana Avenue, Girard, was accused of failing to appear in court on charges of theft, tampering with evidence and possession of dangerous drugs.
March 3
Theft: A man told police a United Parcel Service package containing a set of wireless headphones was stolen from his Sampson Drive home.
GIRARD
March 1
Arrest: Police responded to a disturbance in the 900 block of North Ward Avenue, then charged William E. Lowry, 24, of Indiana Avenue, McDonald, with criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct and menacing. Lowry punched a man’s vehicle and a garage door to a residence, a report said.
Arrest: Authorities took Torry D. Cato, 20, into custody at his Patricia Drive residence. The Girard man was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.
March 2
Attempted theft: Someone reportedly tried to steal a vehicle from Affordable Automobile Repair, 115 S. State St.
Theft by deception: Someone used stolen and fraudulent credit cards to pay for two Toyota vehicles and have them shipped from BNM Auto Sales, 1429 S. State St., to Springtown, Texas.
Menacing: A Crumlin Avenue man said someone in a tan truck stopped at the accuser’s residence, threatened to harm him and mentioned having a firearm.
Fraud: A Lawrence Avenue woman found out someone without authorization had opened a credit-card account in her elderly father’s name.
