Ohio’s unemployment rate remained the same at 5.1 percent in January

Ohio’s unemployment rate remained the same at 5.1 percent in January compared to the revised rate in December, according to the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.
Ohio’s nonfarm wage and salary employment increased 25,100 to 5.39 million in January from a revised 5.36 million in December. The number of workers unemployed in Ohio in January was 293,000, an increase of 1,000 from December. The unemployment rate was 6.5 percent in January 2014.
The U.S. unemployment rate for January was 5.7 percent, an increase from 5.6 percent in December, and down from 6.6 percent in January 2014.
