Cardinal Mooney High School has received significant donations from three alumni that will enhance the quality Catholic education offered at the school.
The money will add to the school’s endowment.
An anonymous gift of $500,000 will be added to this endowment fund to enable even more assistance to be given.
A significant donation from Mooney alumna Patricia Guidos ’59, plus an additional anonymous gift, will be used to help fund renovations to the school building.
“We are extremely grateful for the generosity shown by these alumni,” said the Rev. Gerald DeLucia, Mooney president. “The Mooney Family encompasses several generations of alumni, parents and students. These gifts will allow us to improve the building in which we fulfill our mission of quality education, while also making it possible for many students who otherwise would be unable to attend Mooney to become a part of our family.”
Mike Latessa, vice president for institutional advancement, noted they were inspired by donations to the school made by Mooney Alumni Eddie DeBartolo ’64 and Denise DeBartolo York ’68 last year.
These donations established an endowment fund that provides scholarships and tuition assistance to families who want their children to be able to take advantage of the quality Catholic education offered by Cardinal Mooney.
