Man sentenced to 22 years for 2012 shooting

YOUNGSTOWN — Walter Walker, 33, of East Lucius Avenue, was sentenced to 22 years in prison today in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court for March 10, 2012, shooting at a North Lane Avenue home on the East Side that killed one man and wounded another.

Walker pleaded guilty Feb. 18 before Judge Lou D'Apolito to charges of involuntary manslaughter, aggravated robbery and attempted murder plus additional charges of felonious assault and intimidation for a separate assault at the county jail.

Police said the shooting was drug related.
