Baby released

CAMPBELL

Akron Children’s Hospital on Tuesday released to her mother a 2-month-old girl who suffered first- and second-degree burns, police said.

The infant was burned Friday evening due to immersion in bath water at a home on 12th Street, according to a police report.

The mother stated to police the infant began screaming when she attempted to put the child in the bathtub, and she realized the water temperature was causing the child pain. At that point, the mother immediately took her out of the tub.

Police and Mahoning County Children Services visited the home Wednesday as part of an investigation. No charges have been filed.
