Cows trapped in collapsed barn
SHEAKLEYVILLE, PA.
A barn at Xanadu Jersey Farms on Laver Road in Perry Township in Mercer County collapsed about 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, trapping an estimated 200 cows inside. No human was injured in the collapse but some of the cows may have perished, officials said. The Sheakleyville Fire Department and an animal-response team were on the scene as well as neighbors trying to save the animals.
Domestic violence, cocaine charges

A man arrested on a charge of domestic violence Tuesday had a bag of suspected cocaine on him when he was booked into the Mahoning County jail, police reports said. Officers were called to a home in the 200 block of East Ravenwood Avenue about 2:20 a.m. for a fight. A 35-year-old woman told them her husband, Eric Cobb, 43, slammed her against a wall, choked her and punched her after she became angry over a text message he had received.
Cobb went upstairs to pack some belongings, and the woman called 911, reports said. She had several scratches on her neck. The drug was found inside one of Cobb’s pants pockets when he was searched as he was being booked, reports said. A felony charge of possession of cocaine was added to his misdemeanor domestic-violence charge.
Flynn Tire fire
HERMITAGE, PA.
Fire damaged Flynn Tire and Auto Service at 3090 E. State St. Tuesday evening, but no injuries were reported. Officials said the fire in the back of the business was reported at 7:45 p.m. Firefighters were at the scene about an hour. The cause and damage estimate were not immediately known.
Stolen car stuck in snow on Marion
YOUNGSTOWN
Two women who police say got a stolen car stuck in snow Monday morning were taken to the Mahoning County jail. An officer on West Marion Avenue spotted a car about 3 a.m. driven by Amaefura Dodson, 30, of Youngstown, checked the plate and discovered the car was reported stolen. The car became stuck in snow in front of a home in the 300 block of West Marion Avenue.
When police looked inside, they found two crack pipes and two purses in which a third crack pipe was discovered.
A passenger, Misti Teston, 30, of Youngstown, gave police several different names before she went to jail, reports said.
Dodson was arrested on charges of receiving stolen property and driving under suspension. Teston was taken into custody on charges of obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia because the crack pipe in the purse was found to be hers, reports said.
No plea entered to cop assault by truck
CAMPBELL
Jose Hernandez, 39, of Campbell, entered no plea Tuesday to a felonious-assault charge during his arraignment in municipal court.
He faces a first-degree felony charge of felonious assault with a weapon — his truck. He also faces misdemeanor charges for domestic violence, obstructing official business and resisting arrest.
Hernandez will appear in court Friday on all four charges; he pleaded not guilty to the three misdemeanors. Total bond was set at $28,000.
Police were sent to Hernandez’s home Friday, where a physical altercation took place between him and his wife, according to a police report. When officers arrived, Hernandez tried to leave in his truck, and drove it as if to strike one of the officers, a report says.

Police are looking for a Youngstown man charged with aggravated murder in a fatal shooting outside a South Side jazz bar.
According to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, Earl Price, 42, of Youngstown failed to show up for his arraignment Monday.
He had been released on bond after being charged in the shooting death of DeJuan Thomas, 33, at Partner’s Jazz Lounge on Oak Hill Avenue on Feb. 7. A warrant has been issued for Price, who also goes by the name of Saquonn Shabazz.
Thursday siren test set in Hermitage
HERMITAGE, PA.
Hermitage Fire Department will conduct the monthly test of the Shenango Valley weather warning sirens at 10 a.m. Thursday. The test will include activation of the Clark, Farrell, Sharpsville, Shenango Township, West Middlesex and Wheatland weather sirens. Citizens are asked to disregard the sirens during the test.

Mayor John A. McNally appointed Ryan P. Kelly to serve on the city’s board of health, effective immediately. Kelly’s term expires March 31, 2016. Also, the mayor reappointed the Rev. Lewis Macklin to the board. His new term starts April 1 and expires March 31, 2020.
