Brit Floyd will come to Packard


Brit Floyd, which bills itself as the world’s greatest Pink Floyd show, will come to Packard Music Hall in Warren on Friday for an 8 p.m. show. Here are a few facts about the show, which likely will be sold out:

v Tickets: Prices are $34.50, $39.50 and $49.50 and are available through ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 800-745-3000 and at the Packard box office.

v Pittsburgh: The tour also will stop in Pittsburgh for two shows at Benedum Center on March 12 and 13.

v Popular: Brit Floyd has sold more than 1 million tickets worldwide for its shows.

v The show: The act recreates the Pink Floyd concert experience and performs music from several of the legendary band’s albums, including “Dark Side of the Moon,” “The Wall,” “Wish You Were Here,” “Animals” and “The Division Bell.”

v On PBS: The band’s concert film “Brit Floyd — Live at Red Rocks” has been aired on PBS stations.

“CSI: CYBER” (10 p.m., CBS): Patricia Arquette, you just won an Oscar — now what are you going to do? Return to television, of course. She headlines “CSI: Cyber,” the latest incarnation of the crime franchise.

Carrie Underwood posts baby photo

NEW YORK

Carrie Underwood is a new mom, and like all proud parents, she’s showing him off in a photo.

The multiplatinum country singer gave birth to Isaiah Michael Fisher on Friday, and on Tuesday, she announced it to the world on Twitter. She posted a picture of Isaiah, showing his tiny hand and a bit of his mouth.

He’s the first child for Underwood, 31, and her husband, Mike Fisher, who plays for the National Hockey League’s Nashville Predators.

Lecture will focus on women in war

NEW CASTLE, PA.

Lawrence County Historical Society will present “They Also Served — Women During WW II” on March 11 at 7 p.m. at the Clavelli History Center, 408 N. Jefferson St. Admission is free.

Guest speaker will be Ruth Fairchild, who joined the Army in 1982 and served for 12 years as an operating room technician. Upon returning to New Castle, Fairchild joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars and eventually became Pennsylvania’s first female commander.

“They Also Served” will feature local women veterans and those in the civilian jobs women held to support the war effort. For information, call the LCHS at 724-658-4022.

Colbert to address graduating class

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.

Comedian Stephen Colbert is taking a break from shaping his upcoming late-night talk show to deliver Wake Forest University’s commencement address. The private Winston-Salem university said Tuesday that Colbert will offer graduating students his thoughts on facing their futures May 18.

Wake Forest’s commencement is reserved for graduates and guests, but the school plans to webcast the ceremony live.
