Airline assures DOT that ex-CEO is out

VIENNA

The company that wants to bring flight service to the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport has responded to the U.S. Department of Transportation about DOT concerns.

Lawyers representing Aerodynamics Inc. included a declaration from former ADI CEO Scott Beale that he does not have any written or oral agreements with ADI or its parent companies — ADI Holdings and Aviation Capital Partners.

The federal transportation department’s main concern was the influence of Beale, the former CEO, majority shareholder and chairman of the ADI board and its parent companies.

Beale also declared that he did not have any agreements or relationships with the new CEO, Darrell Richardson or any of the board members.

The document also explains the process of hiring the new CEO.

It also includes declarations from the new CEO and board members declaring that they do not have a relationship or any agreements with Beale.

All of this information was requested by the DOT after its tentative denial of the application for service between Chicago and Youngstown. The DOT has said it is “highly encouraged” by ADI’s action to alleviate the department’s concerns, which the department laid out in an order to show cause issued Jan. 22.
