Campbell woman arrested on warrant

CAMPBELL

A Campbell woman is to appear in court today for charges to be dismissed in a 3-year-old case.

Barbara DeCarlo, 48, of Youngstown, was arrested Friday night in Austintown on a warrant from Campbell.

Police said DeCarlo and Zandray McKinna, 24, of Youngstown were caregivers to a 72-year-old man in Campbell in 2012. The victim reported that his checkbook was missing, and his family reported that nearly $4,000 was taken out of his account.

During that year, warrants were issued from Campbell Municipal Court for the two caregivers. McKinna was arrested in June 2013 but DeCarlo had moved to Florida. McKinna’s case was bound over to a grand jury along with DeCarlo as a co-defendant despite her not being apprehended.

In October 2013, McKinna pleaded guilty to three fifth-degree felony charges: theft, forgery and receiving stolen property. She was sentenced to probation with restitution.

DeCarlo appeared in Mahoning County Court in September 2014. Charges were dismissed due to McKinna taking full responsibility, but Campbell police said they were not notified, and that the warrant issued from Campbell was still active.

DeCarlo was released Monday with a summons to appear in court today where the charges will be dismissed, police said.
