St. Rose School bricks available

Bricks from the old St. Rose School, built in 1913, are still available from the alumni association.

Bricks are $10 each for plain or $15 each for those with a gold name plate.

Night at the races scheduled by Lions

Youngstown

The Boardman Lions Club will sponsor its 17th annual Night at the Races fundraiser at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Operating Engineers Hall on McClurg Road.

A $10 fee at the door will include an all-you-can-eat buffet provided by several area restaurants, along with beer and nonalcoholic beverages.

Proceeds for the fundraiser benefit Coats for Kids and Eyeglasses/Exams for kids and adults in need.

The evening will include a basket raffle and silent auction from a variety of local shops.

Stitches in Time schedules meeting

SALEM

The March 18 get-together of Stitches in Time will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Salem Public Library’s Quaker Room, 821 E. State St.

Crocheters, knitters, cross-stitchers, etc. are invited to take a project to work on.

No need to register for this event, which is open to the public.

Hubbard library schedules yoga

HUBBARD

Hubbard Public Library, 436 W. Liberty St., will conduct gentle mat yoga sessions from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 14, 21 and 28 and April 4 and 18.

Suggested donation is $5 per class.

Another session will begin in May; dates will be announced.

Event will recall Hungarian war

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown American-Hungarian Federation of Churches and Societies will host an event to commemorate the 1848 war of independence at 2:30 p.m. March 15 at the Aut Mori Grotto Hall, 563 N. Belle Vista Ave.

The program will feature a look into the history of Hungary during the 1800s and 1900s.

Local musicians will provide traditional Hungarian melodies, and several poems will be recited.

Speakers will be Leslie Polgar Sr. and Stephen Szabo.

A light lunch will be available for purchase after the program.
