Freezing rain now will give way to snow Wednesday
YOUNGSTOWN — Freezing rain fell for most of the afternoon making driving somewhat treacherous in portions of the Mahoning Valley.
There could be a couple of inches of snow Wednesday in the area.
The snow will start Wednesday afternoon and isn’t expected to stop until early Thursday, said Eric Wilhelm, chief meteorologist for 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.
The high temperature Wednesday should be close to 35 degrees, but will drop Thursday.
The high for Thursday will be in the teens with a low likely dropping below zero overnight, Wilhelm said.
On Friday, the high is expected to reach 23 and dip into the upper teens at night, he said.
There’s a chance of snow Saturday with a high in the mid-30s. The high on Sunday is expected to also be in the mid-30s, but it should be partly sunny, Wilhelm said.
