Cruze sales dip for February
LORDSTOWN
February sales on the Lordstown-built Chevrolet Cruze dipped down by 16.2 percent from February 2014.
But February 2014 was the compact car’s best February yet with 21,836 sold.
In February 2015 there were 18,301 sold, according to General Motors’ February sales data released this morning.
Overall, U.S. GM dealers delivered 231,378 vehicles last month for a 4 percent increase in sales compared to a year ago. Retail sales were up 1 percent. Commercial and fleet deliveries were up 12 percent. Sales of trucks, including SUVs, vans and pickups, were up 36 percent year over year.
“Our new SUVs and crossovers, combined with the three-pickup strategy we outlined more than a year ago, are dovetailing perfectly with the growing U.S. economy and a stronger job market,” said Kurt McNeil, U.S. vice president of sales operations.
