Youngstown department seeks funding for director
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown District Board of Health has requested $25,000 from the city and applied for a $42,500 grant from the Ohio Commission on Minority Health to fund a full-time director for the Youngstown Office of Minority Health.
Under the proposal, the city would be the primary financial sponsor of the Youngstown Office of Minority Health program and the state grant, if approved, would subsidize YOMH’s operation, said Erin Bishop, city health commissioner, at today’s health board meeting.
The YOMH director is Leigh Greene-Colvin, a private contractor who is paid $20 per hour and has no city benefits, Bishop said.
