Warren robber sinks to new snow low
WARREN
As if it were not challenging enough getting through this winter, a thief in Warren has sunk to a new low — an armed robbery by snow shoveler.
A 46-year-old Kenmore Avenue Southeast man reported that he was robbed at gunpoint at 3:55 p.m. Sunday by a man who first approached him about shoving his driveway for money.
When the man said no, the approximately 30-year-old black male wearing a Carhart-type coat with a rip on the side replied: “If you’re not going to let me shovel your driveway, give me your money.”
The would-be shoveler lifted one side of his jacket, revealing a handgan in the waistband of his pants.
The suspect got the cash from the homeowner and fled by getting in the passenger side of an older silver Chevrolet minivan that was parked in the driveway. A white male was driving.
