Morley Building celebrates art

Building Art, the annual celebration of the creative artists in the Morley Arts Building, will be Saturday at 7 p.m.
The building located at 218 W. Boardman St., downtown, is the home of Ballet Western Reserve.
Saturday’s event will raise funds while showcasing several performers.
“The arts community of the Morley Arts Building will once again put the fun in fundraising with this celebration of the Mahoning Valley’s most nurturing and productive creative venue,” said Stas Kmiec, artistic director of BWR. “Repairs, renovation and updates at our facility are necessary, and this event will allow the great work that is developed in this historic building to continue.”
Saturday’s event will include a reception with hors d’oeuvres and a variety of wines, beer, coffee and tea.
A “Dinner for a Year” basket, including gift certificates from numerous area dining establishments, will be raffled off during the evening.
All funds raised will go toward repairs and renovations of the Morley Building.
Tickets are $25 ($15 for senior citizens and students). Call 330-744-1934.
As always, Building Art will a variety of performances, including dance, theater, music, song and art. There will also be a variety of participatory and lecture-style workshops that visitors can attend.
