Scrappy teams with Leetonia Library

Leetonia Community Public Library Is participating in Scrappy’s Reading Club during March and April.

The goal of the club is to encourage students in grades K to 8 to read more books outside the classroom.

A bookmark will be completed for each five books a child reads.

The prize is two free general-admission tickets to a Scrappers game.

Students who complete the reading club will be recognized on the Scrappers field for their accomplishments.

If 50 books are read, Scrappy will be the special guest at the library’s Summer Reading Fun kickoff in June.

Fathers, daughters invited to dance

Fathers or male guardians are invited to attend a semiformal dinner-dance with their daughters in pre-K through grade 5.

The event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. March 21 at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre, 123 N. Main St.

Dinner will be provided along with a disc jockey and professional photographer.

Tickets cost $35 for a couple and $15 for each extra child.

They can be purchased at McKinley High School, 616 Dragon Drive.
