Salem Habitat ReStore hosts March 10 event

Staff report

SALEM

Habitat for Humanity ReStore, 1965 N. Ellsworth St., will host an after-hours event 5 to 8 p.m. March 10. The event is free, and light refreshments will be served.

The event will feature a “repurposing your garden” display, which will include repurposed ReStore items to be used for garden art or planting as well as other ideas for gardening.

Customers will be able to shop the ReStore’s spring merchandise for the first time this season. Drawings to win gift cards, handmade arrangements and more will be offered.

The Habitat construction manager will demonstrate tips and tricks on how to use the paint supplies sold in the ReStore and how to give homes a fresh coat of paint this spring.

The event also will feature a one-time electronics recycling drive. Televisions, computers, printers, telephones, scanners and all other electronics will be accepted during the three-hour event only. All items will be recycled for free, except for projection, console and floor model TVs, for which there is a $5 fee.

The ReStore also will be accepting latex paint for recycling, with a $1 fee per can. The ReStore accepts latex paint all year for $2 per can, but it will be discounted during the event.

The ReStore is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays.

All donations made are tax-deductible. To have a large item picked up for free, call 330-337-4808 to make arrangements. Donations also can be dropped off at the store from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

ReStore is a project of Habitat for Humanity of Northern Columbiana County, a United Way agency.
