Austintown Rotary Club and the Youngstown Phantoms are teaming up for a fundraiser at Friday’s game to benefit Rotary’s End Polio Now Campaign. Students from the fifth-grade choir at Austintown Middle School will be singing the national anthem. The game begins at 7:05 p.m. at the Covelli Centre, 229 E. Pavilion rentals

Gardening seminar

Penn State Master Gardeners in Lawrence County will offer a “Got A Garden?” Spring Symposium from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 14 at The Confluence, 214 E. Washington St. Cost is $45, and will include a continental breakfast and lunch. Proceeds support the master gardeners’ programs and projects. Disabled-kids event

MERCER, PA.

Mercer County commissioners and Variety the Children’s Charity have partnered to present adaptive bicycles to children in Mercer County with disabilities. The “Identification Event for Kids” will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday in the county courthouse rotunda, 120 S. Diamond St.

The charity’s goal is to identify more children in the county to benefit from its program. More than 250 adaptive bikes are sponsored plus a supply of devices and strollers. Eligible children in the area need to be found to benefit from the devices. All equipment is presented on a first-come, first-served basis in Variety’s 16-county service area throughout western Pennsylvania.
