Dress that looks like stolen gown is found

LOS ANGELES

A white dress that strongly resembles the custom gown taken from Lupita Nyong’o’s hotel room earlier this week turned up Friday under a bathroom sink in the same hotel, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s official said.

The dress found at a West Hollywood hotel “greatly resembles” the pearl-adorned Calvin Klein Collection by Francisco Costa dress the actress wore to last Sunday’s Academy Awards, sheriff’s spokeswoman Nicole Nishida said.

Detectives were trying to verify whether the recovered dress is the same one Nyong’o wore, she said.

World’s biggest private Harry Potter collection on display

MEXICO CITY

A young Mexican’s fascination with Harry Potter has grown into the world’s biggest private collection of toys, books, clothes and other items related to author J.K. Rowling’s fantasy hero. Now, other fans have a chance to see it all.

The collection belonging to real-estate lawyer Menahem Asher Silva Vargas has been certified by Guinness Awards as the largest anywhere. And it is on display at the Mexican Museum of Antique Toys in Mexico City.

Silva Vargas started collecting Harry Potter items 15 years ago, when he was 12. He started with toys, then branched out to all sorts of things, from scarves to soda cans from Japan and Chinese language editions of Rowling’s books.

He has 3,097 items in all. The exhibit formally opened Saturday.

Osbourne is done with ‘Fashion Police’

LOS ANGELES

Kelly Osbourne is exiting “Fashion Police,” days after complaining about co-host Giuliana Rancic’s comments on Zendaya’s dreadlocks.

E! Entertainment said Friday that Osbourne is leaving to pursue other opportunities.

Osbourne’s publicist did not immediately respond to a request to comment.

On Monday’s post-Oscar edition of “Fashion Police,” Rancic said that actress-singer Zendaya’s hair suggested the smell of patchouli oil or marijuana. Rancic came under fire from Zendaya and Osbourne, among others, and apologized the next day on “E! News.”

Osbourne tweeted Tuesday that she doesn’t condone racism and was reconsidering being part of “Fashion Police.”

E! said the series will air next as scheduled on March 30. No decision has been made on Osbourne’s replacement, the channel said.
