Boardman senior Brooke Bailey placed eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke at the Division I state meet at C.T. Branin Natatorium. On the boys side, Warren Harding junior Michael Miller was 14th in the 50 free and joined Dylan Thirion, Nathan Marchek and Justyn Morgan on the 11th place 200 free relay.

Jackson-Milton’s Mitch Tikkanen (113), Terry Stockton (120) and Anthony Italiano (182); Girard’s Michael Belcik (132); South Range’s J.R. Renforth (145); Liberty’s Logan Weinreber (170); United’s Charlie Smith (220); and Wellsville’s Seth Bloor (285) won their weight classes at the sectional tournament at Rootstown High School. DIVISION II DISTRICT BOWLING
LORAIN
The Struthers boys bowling team won the district tounament with a team total of 4,071 pins. The Wilcats were led by Andrew Brabant (636 series), Adam Cifra (600) and Johnny Medvec (561). Hubbard placed third with 3,948 pins. Caleb Johnson rolled a 747 series to lead the Eagles. Lakeview finished fourth with 3,814 pins. Brandon Currence (621) and Sean Meszaros led the Bulldogs. LaBrae’s Brandon Bergstrom bowled a 615 series to qualify for the state tournament. On the girls side, Carindal Mooney (3,376) and Hubbard (3,375) both qualified for states. The Cardinals were led by Clara Angeloff (573) and Christian Dama (503). Sabrina Romano (571) led the Eagles. Individually, Jamie King (Struthers) qualified with a 560 series.
