Real-estate appraisers out next week in Columbiana County

COLUMBIANA — Appraisers will be reviewing residential and agricultural properties in the villages of Columbiana and Lisbon and Center Township next week as part of the 2016 Columbiana County revaluation of real estate.

County Auditor Nancy Milliken says residential and agricultural appraisers the county hired will be out in these areas to obtain accurate information concerning homes and farms.

Appraisers will be visiting property owners between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in order to interview them about particular characteristics of their home or farm.

An on-foot/drive-by inspection of the exterior of the properties may be part of the process.

Milliken stressed it is important the appraiser in question have a valid revaluation identification.

The appraisers will not necessarily be going to each house in a particular area, so there is no need for concern if a person is seen in the neighborhood and they do not visit each house.

If no one is home at the time of the visit, the appraisers will leave a door-card questionnaire which property owners are requested to complete and mail back to the auditor’s field appraisal office.
