No injuries in South Side fire this afternoon

YOUNGSTOWN — No one was injured in a fire that officials blamed on a stove at an Elbertus Avenue home about noon today.

Crews were called to the 3700 block of Elbertus Avenue and found light smoke coming from the house. The people inside had escaped before firefighters arrived, said a fire department spokesman on the scene.

The spokesman said the majority of the damage inside was caused by smoke. A damage estimate is not yet available.
