Damascus United Methodist Church, 300 Valley Road, Damascus, is accepting donations of good, workable and usable items for its rummage sale. The sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 7 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 8. Fill a brown paper bag for $4 all day Aug. 7 and until noon Saturday. From noon to 1 p.m. Aug. 8 fill paper bags for $1. Large items will be priced separately. Drop off items for the sale from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday. No exercise equipment or large upholstered furniture will be accepted. Proceeds will support the missions of Damascus United Methodist Women. A bake sale and lunch bar also will be available.

Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently used clothes for the entire family. Just in for women are sizes 3x, 4x and 5x. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

A calendar of activities to which the public is invited is published Monday. Please submit information to the Society Department by noon Thursday.
