Mahoning floodwaters starting to recede

Weather brought some minor flooding and fallen trees Sunday.
Floodwaters began to recede around the Mahoning River on Sunday afternoon, according to Vindicator broadcast partner 21 WFMJ-TV. The station also reported 461 homes in Columbiana County and 141 homes in Trumbull County were without power early Sunday, but most of the power was restored by noon.
The Trumbull County 911 center and the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office said they received no reports of flooding Sunday. In Lowellville, the village administrator reported that a tree had fallen over electrical lines on Washington Street on Sunday, which was cleared up that same day.
Niles man arrested in pawn-shop robbery

Daniel Campbell, 35, of Niles was arrested in connection with a robbery Saturday afternoon, according to Vindicator broadcast partner 21 WFMJ-TV.
Campbell was taken into custody at the Villa Arms Motel in Weathersfield Township shortly after the robbery of Instant Cash into Gold pawn shop on Youngstown-Warren Road on Saturday night.
Police said the suspect pepper-sprayed a woman who was working at the business, grabbed the cash box and ran away.
Police say Campbell was located through a tip.
Authorities noted that he has an extensive criminal history and was considered armed and dangerous.
Wellness Wednesday

Wellness Wednesday at the Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St., will offer a presentation by Kevin Fuschetto, clinical pharmacist, on “Adult Vaccinations: Find Out How To Stop the Flu, Shingles, Pneumonia and Pertussis Too” at 6:30 p.m. July 8.
Fuschetto, a pharmacist for Giant Eagle Pharmacy in the Youngstown area, will discuss some of the common vaccinations for adults and how pharmacists can help people keep healthy all year. This program is free and open to the public.
