Driver strikes tree in Niles, drives away, police say

NILES — City police say someone left the scene of an accident after striking a tree on Niles-Vienna Road near Union Cemetery this evening.

When police responded to the scene, the vehicle, reportedly a pickup truck, had already left the scene after causing “heavy” damage to the tree near Union Cemetery, police said.
