County fails to fix roads

Slow down: county failure ahead. That is what should be posted on North and South Turner Road and Mahoning Avenue in west Austintown. Both roads are heavily traveled and are in very bad shape. In the early spring the county engineer, stated “ be patient;” crews are working as fast as they can to repair the roads. And I believed he was trying. Now we are in early summer, and nothing has been done to these roads.

The Meander Cove Development off North Turner has one way in and out of the development, so the residents have no choice but to ruin tires and vehicles to go to work and home every day. Mahoning Avenue has several large canyons in its surface between Meander Reservoir and wtate Route 46.

These roads have been neglected for the past three or four years with half-patch jobs. Winter Rolls around and the freeze -thaw cycle damages them more. It’s time that a permanent repair is done on both roads.
