Becks mark 60th anniversary with vow renewal

Mr. and Mrs. M. Frank Beck of Boardman celebrated 60 years of marriage by renewing their vows June 14 during a Mass at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown, officiated by Bishop George V. Murry. A family dinner at the Lake Club hosted by their children followed the Mass.

Their children are Dr. M. Frank and Jennifer Beck of Poland, Betty Jane and Dave Valle of Cuyahoga Falls, and John and Ashley Beck of Dallas.

They have seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.

The couple are members of St. Charles Church in Boardman.

Mrs. Beck was a registered nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown before retiring in 1980. She is a member of Seton III, South Side Bridge Club, Couples Bridge Club and Neighborhood Bridge Club. She is a homemaker and volunteers for St. Charles Registration Committee.

Mr. Beck is a retired teacher and basketball coach at Fowler, Maplewood and Ursuline High schools. He is a member of the Youngstown State University Football Alumni Club, Penguin Club and Couples Bridge Club. He was a captain in the Army and was honorably discharged.

The former Mary Lou McGovern married Mr. Beck on June 4, 1955, at St. Dominic Church in Youngstown.
