Bishop George V. Murry of the Diocese of Youngstown has appointed Monsignor Peter M. Polando as judicial vicar in the Tribunal of the diocese.

Effective July 1, he has also appointed the Rev. Martin Celuch as adjutant judicial vicar.

Monsignor Polando received his licentiate in canon law from the Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., in 1994. He has served as a judge and defender of the bond in the Diocesan Tribunal since 1994 and as adjutant judicial vicar since 2003. In his capacity as judicial vicar, he will also serve as executive director of the Department of Canonical Services for the Diocese of Youngstown.

Monsignor Polando is currently rector of St. Columba Cathedral.

Father Celuch received his licentiate in canon law from the Catholic University of America in 2011. He served as judge and defender of the bond in the Diocesan Tribunal since 2011. Father Celuch also serves as pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish.

Monsignor Michael J. Cariglio, whose term as judicial vicar ends July 1, will remain on the court as judge and defender of the bond. He is rector of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica – St. Anthony of Padua Parish.

Bishop Murry has also appointed the Rev. Daniel Finnerty, who is newly ordained, as associate pastor at St. Paul Parish in North Canton effective July 1.
