Lions and Lioness Clubs host Installation Night

On June 8, the Austintown Lions and Lioness Clubs hosted a joint Installation Night at Rachel’s Restaurant in Austintown, with King Lion John Susany presiding. Serving as installing officer was Second Vice District Governor elect Wayne Christen of the Calcutta Lions. This was also the 38th Charter night for the Austintown Lions.

Elected for his second consecutive term and installed as president for the Lions was John Susany. Installed as president for the Lioness was Lori Stone, who has completed several terms as president.

Highlights of the evening were Melvin Jones Fellowship awards presented to Lions Harold Wilson and John Facemyer by District Lions Clubs International Foundation Chairman, Past District Governor Bob Booher

from the Canal Fulton Lions Club. The award is symbolic of dedicated humanitarian service.

Other officers installed for the Lions were: First Vice President Bob Melcher, Second Vice President Jack Kochansky, Secretary Harold Wilson, Treasurer Larry Jensen, Tail Twister Jim Banyots, Lion Tamer Don Hoelzel, Membership and Public Relations Past District Governor Bob Whited, one-year Director John Facemyer, two-year Director Glenn Ringer and Lioness Liaison Larry Jensen.

For The Lioness, other officers installed were Vice President Lou Skerkavich, Secretary Teresa McCallen and Treasurer Jane Grace.

Guests included spouses and Lion Peggy Booher of the Northwest Lions Club, wife of PDG Bob Booher.
