ALLIANCES

Ohio Cultural Alliance will meet at 6 p.m. July 6 at Antone’s Banquet Center, 8578 Market St., Boardman. Victor Wan-Tatah, Ph.D., will address the theme “Going Places with the Ohio Cultural Alliance: Cameroon.” He is a native of Cameroon and a retired professor from Youngstown State University. Cultural enrichment will be provided by Dr. H.W. Martin, professor of English and poet in residence at the University of Dayton. His program will focus on how forms of music help to keep black literature alive. Memberships are $25 per person, and the cost for each meeting is $15 for paid members and $20 for nonmembers. Attendees should take nonperishable food items or paper products, which will be given to the Ursuline Sisters.

ASSOCIATIONS

Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will host a picnic at 6:30 p.m. July 14 at the Georgeanna Parker Center in Boardman Township Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road. Chicken and beverages will be provided. Members are to take side dishes and desserts and should dress casually. The cost is $5 per person. Tri-Gold Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will meet July 8 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield.
