The kindergarten students of C.H. Campbell Elementary School presented “E-I-E-I Oops!” for family and friends at the Canfield High School auditorium on May 28.

“Good evening and welcome to our kindergarten show. These kindergartners are amazing and are very excited to perform for you tonight. This show would not be possible without all the help we received and I would like to thank the board of education, the district administration, Mr. Lavery, the kindergarten teachers and parents. I am blessed to work in this school district with your children. The kindergarten staff has given these children an amazing foothold and the confidence they have shows everyday. A special thank you also to the parents for all your help with the decorations for our show,” said Michael Fay, C.H. Campbell music specialist.

“E-I-E-I Oops!” is a musical play for young voices by John Jacobson and John Higgins.

The play opens in the barnyard of Farmer MacDonald and the whole barnyard is singing, including roosters, mules, chicks, pigs and sheep. But the cow cannot moo. The pigs, chicks and sheep all chime in to give suggestions, but Mr. Mule is the one who finds the secret to the cow’s silence. All the animals do their part to save the day. The play is an example of friendship, self esteem and confidence.

The students opened the show with “E-I-E-I Oops!” and moved into “Ham it Up,” with a focus on the students portraying pigs. The students told pig jokes and sang short solos.

The next song was “Lost Sheep” featuring three sheep and Little Bo Peep. “Cute Chicks” was then performed with the spotlight on students dressed as chicks.

The students closed their show with “The Whole Barnyard is Singin,’” with focus on all the animals helping the cow finally moo, much to the delight of their audience who rewarded the students with a standing ovation.
