1 dead in plane crash near Beloit

BELOIT — A small-plane crash near the airport here this evening killed the pilot, who was the only person on board, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

The patrol got the call at 6:35 p.m.

A dispatcher there said a representative from the Federal Aviation Administration is on the way to the Tri-City Airport on state Route 165 near West Branch High School, and more information was expected to be available later tonight.
