‘Illusion’ at the Morley

‘Illusion’ at the Morley

Mahoning Valley Players and Rust Belt Theater Company will present a free performance of “The Illusion,” written by Robert Dennick Joki, at Morley Pavilion in Mill Creek Park’s Wick Recreation Area at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Based on “L’Illusion Comique,” a classic French play, “The Illusion” is an often hilarious story of love, murder, betrayal and irony, in two acts. The play tells the story of Elsa Pridamont, a troubled mother who goes to a sorceress’s lair seeking information about her missing son. She is presented with a series of mystical visions about her son, and in the process finds out more than she bargained for. Audience members may bring blankets or lawn chairs. In case of rain, the play will be moved to Calvin Center, 755 Mahoning Ave. Pictured are Kage Coven and Bernadette Lim in a scene from the play.
