History society presents scavenger hunt

YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society will present the Amazing History Race on Friday. It’s a “scavenger hunt meets road trip” journey that tests contestants knowledge of local history.

Individuals or teams will begin their vehicular adventure at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., downtown, with an opening clue directing them to one of six different landmarks in the Valley.

Successive clues will be handed out at each location. Contestants will have a “lifeline” available if they get stumped.

The final clue will lead contestants to the finish line for a casual pizza party with soft drinks (other beverages are BYOB).

Registration begins at 5 p.m., and the race starts at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $5 per person. Call 330-743-2589 for more information and to sign up.
