“Clarity” and “Just Someone at a Party,SDRq for the Voices of the Valley New One-Act Play Festival, Youngstown Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane, auditions at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Roles are available for a wide range of men and women between age 20 and 70, and all roles are open. Auditionees should bring a recent photograph of themselves and be prepared to read from the script. “Clarity” will be directed by Pat Foltz and is about a family of eccentric people who love and support each other. “Just Someone at a Party,” directed by Dylan White, strips away the artifice of first impressions and shows us the underlying human condition of two strangers. “Incorruptible,SDRq directed by Paul Angelucci, New Castle Playhouse, 212 E. Long Ave., New Castle, Pa., auditions at 7 p.m. July 20 and 21 in the Annex Theatre. The show is a dark comedy about the Dark Ages. Eight roles need to be filled – five men and three women. Performances will be Oct. 2-11. For information, call the Playhouse at 724-654-3437.

Celebrate Poland “Poland Idol” singing contest seeks contestants for its singing contest Saturday at the Poland Village Gazebo. Registration starts at 10:30 a.m., and the competition starts at noon. There are four age categories (K-4th grade; 5th-8th grade, high school and adults) with first-, second- and third-place prizes in each category. There is a $20 registration fee.
